“The five-minute final”

In the 1979 FA Cup final, Arsenal faced Manchester United in what would become a highlight of the Gunners’ proud history.
The final had one the most extraordinary finishes in history and was later dubbed “the five-minute final”.

During the game, Arsenal took a 2-0 lead in the first half. After the break, the game was largely uneventful and it looked like Arsenal had the game in the bag.
But in the 86. minute Manchester United scored and reduced the lead to 2-1. And just 2 minutes later they equalised.
United had made an incredible comeback but their joy would prove shortlived.
Because Arsenal would not lie down.
Under a minute after the equaliser, Alan Sunderland scored the winner for the Gunners.
