It was an emotional day for all Arsenal fans when The Gunners faced Wigan on the last matchday of the 2005/2006 Premier League season.

Arsenal had to win the game in order to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.

But this was also the last game ever to be played at Arsenals legendary stadium Highbury. Therefore the match served as the fans’ last farewell to their club’s home since 1913.

Despite going behind 2-1 in the first half, Arsenal was able to turn things around. They ended up winning the game 4-2 thanks to a brilliant hat-trick by club legend Thierry Henry.
