In 2012 Chelsea won the Champions League trophy for the very first time.
On the road to the final, The Blues faced the mighty Barcelona of Pep Guardiola in a truly memorable semifinal clash.

The first fixture ended in a 1-0  home victory for Chelsea. But it was the second leg at the Camp Nou that would go down as one of the most iconic games in Chelsea-history. 

The Blues were off to a rocky start. Gary Cahill was injured after 12 minutes and captain John Terry received a red card just short of 40 minutes of play. Chelsea had lost the heart of their normally rock-solid backline. To make matters worse Barcelona would go up 2-0 during the first half. 
But Roberto Di Matteo’s men did not give up. In an amazing display of both heart and ability, Chelsea clawed their way back in the game. First Ramires made it 2-1 before Fernando Torres scored the decisive goal deep into stoppage time.
