France wins the World Cup for the first time

The French National Team from 1998 is one of the greatest football teams the world has ever seen.
Thuram, Desailly, Deschamps, Petit, Zidane and Djorkaeff. These were just some of the stars that graced the French squad in 1998.

France played this World Cup on home soil and “les Bleus” did not disappoint their home audience.
The French dream team started off by winning all of their games during the group stage. Then they disposed of Paraguay, Italy and Croatia on the way to the final in Paris.
Here they faced the reigning world champions from Brazil.
Despite going up against a strong Brazilian team, France won the final 3-0 and won the World Cup for the first time.
