Above the city of Kaiserslautern lies the impressive Fritz-Walter-Stadion. This towering football fortress is the home ground of 1. FC Kaiserslautern. “Betze” is famous for having one of the most intense and passionate atmospheres in all of German football. The stadium is named after the club’s greatest ever player and Kaiserslautern-born Fritz Walter. He spent 22 years at “Die Roten Teufel” and was famously the star and captain of the Germany team that won the 1954 World Cup in what is now known as “Das Wunder von Bern”.
