The 2016 Euro final in Paris is without a doubt the greatest night in the history of Portuguese football.
A Seleção were the underdogs going into this game against France, who played on their home soil. Portugal’s chances for glory suffered another blow just 25 minutes into the game when captain Cristiano Ronaldo had to leave the pitch injured and in tears.
But Fernando Santos’ team did not surrender, and in extra time Eder hammered a wonderful strike into the back of the net to secure the first-ever Euro title win for Portugal.
